| Old Trainer - living separate |
| Well, I am down in the dumps a bit this holiday season and a bit confused. Last year in November my wife left - she now lives in Montana. My occupation took me away from home for months at a time. I train/handle bird dogs in field trial competition for a living. She felt if she was going to be alone she was gonna be near her family and friends in Montana (parents, cousins live close by) She said, I could come up and visit anytime (I did in July and again in October) and we had a great time together. However, the day in day out living alone in Texas (where my kennel and business is) is getting to me. Recently, I met an attractive women close to my age (a bit older actually) that loves horses, and dogs and seems to like talking to me and being around me. I found myself being drawn to her. Which is totally wrong to me and conflicts everything I believe in. How do you all cope with things of this sort - I realize everything is different for every relationship - but I am finding it harder to even call my wife and speak to her - to me this was very hurtful - a total rejection and I am not sure how it will play out - being married and so far away all the time.
I am 44 yrs old and have been married for about 15 yrs now. |

Keith, Do you mean that you guys are still 'together' but just not physically together?
As far as you finding a woman who you like to be with who lives close to you, it seems as if this is a good therapeutic thing for you. It doesn't seem like your current relationship is very healthy and I obviously am on this site for a reason and have my own big problems and shortcomings, but when I read this, it just sounded like you felt so alone in such a big place and it seems like your current marriage may not be much of a marriage, or the kind that you believe in at least, right now? |
